Eating Disorder Treatment in Reston, Virginia

Full Recovery is Possible.

My philosophy on treating eating disorders is grounded in the belief that full recovery is possible.

Yes, even for you.

Using a trauma-informed, HAES®-aligned approach, I’m here to support you in separating your true self from the disordered beliefs and behaviors.

Treating eating disorders and body image struggles in all people, regardless of diagnosis, gender, or body size.

I've seen too many people hesitate to seek support because they believe they're "not sick enough," don’t have the "right" body size, or don’t fit the stereotype of an eating disorder. As a result, they continue to struggle alone—when help is available.

I believe in inclusive therapy that recognizes all struggles with food, weight, body image, and identity as valid—and deserving of support and care.

Eating disorders exist on a spectrum, but at their core, they all reflect a need to heal our relationship with food and our bodies.

FAQs

What types of eating disorders do you treat?

I work with clients experiencing a wide range of eating concerns, including anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, and other forms of disordered eating. I also support those struggling with body image, restrictive dieting, or compulsive exercise. Many of my clients are navigating these challenges alongside pregnancy, postpartum changes, or other major life transitions.

Can therapy help if I don’t have a “full-blown” eating disorder?

Absolutely. You don’t need a formal diagnosis to benefit from therapy. If thoughts about food, weight, or your body are taking up too much space in your mind, therapy can help you understand these patterns, build coping skills, and develop a healthier, more compassionate relationship with yourself.

How do you approach eating disorder therapy?

I use a trauma-informed, HAES informed, individualized approach that combines art therapy, EMDR, narrative therapy, somatic techniques, and evidence-based talk therapies. Together, we explore both the roots of your struggles and the tools you need to heal, while honoring your lived experience and values.

Do you specialize in postpartum body image and eating concerns?

Yes. The postpartum period can bring intense pressure and body changes that sometimes trigger or worsen eating struggles. I have advanced training in perinatal mental health and a deep understanding of how these challenges overlap. My goal is to create a safe space where you can process your feelings, care for your body, and feel supported through this season of motherhood.

What if I’ve been in recovery before and relapsed?

Recovery isn’t a straight line, and a setback doesn’t erase your progress. Together, we’ll explore what led to the relapse, rebuild your support system, and develop strategies for lasting healing. Therapy is a place for compassion, not judgment.

Can we do eating disorder therapy virtually?

Yes. I offer secure telehealth sessions throughout Virginia, as well as in-person sessions in Reston, VA. Virtual therapy can be especially helpful for busy parents or clients who prefer the privacy and convenience of meeting from home.

How do I get started?

You can begin by scheduling a free consultation call. We’ll talk about your goals, answer questions, and decide if we’re a good fit to work together. From there, we’ll create a personalized plan to support your healing journey.
